Speaking of high quality tactical gear, DefRev has received two 5.11 Tactical Shirts (one beige, on O.D. green) for T&E. We haven’t had a chance to wear them around yet, but the quality of these shirts is quite evident, just from handling and inspecting them. These shirts appear to be really well put together.

The 5.11 Tactical Shirt is 100% cotton that looks like a safari-type shirt, or photographer’s shirt. The first thing you notice on it are the…

two visible velcro-fastening chest pockets. Behind each of those pockets are much larger/roomier and less conspicuous pockets that are kind of hidden. These pockets are also velcro-fastening. Since they’re located underneath the visible chest pockets, they open from the interior sides (towards the shirt buttons). It’s a cool setup. Both of these "hidden" pockets are more than large enough to hold a compact firearm, like a Glock 19 (G19), or a subcompact firearm, like a Glock 26 (G26) or Glock 27 (G27), with no problem. If you wanted to, you could stick a gun in each pocket. There’s even enough room to fit spare loaded magazines. The pockets appear to be well-stitched and strong enough to hold this kind of weight, although we haven’t tested this, yet.

The 5.11 Tactical Shirt also features a soft white cotton mesh that we presume is designed to absorb moisture (sweat). Both shirts we received were supplied with two eppelets (that can be sewn on) and buttons. Don’t think we’ll be doing that, but we appreciate the option.

DefRev is looking forward to wearing these 5.11 Tactical shirts around for awhile. So, far, they seem really comfortable. I can tell you, they look really good. They look like they’ll be perfect not only for outdoor activities, but also for dress casual situations. We’ll keep you posted.

If you would like to acquire som 5.11 Tactical Shirts or other clothing (like the 5.11 Tactical Pant) for yourself, 5.11 Tactical can be contacted by phone at 866-451-1726. Bob Denny, 5.11 Tactical’s National Sales Manager, can be contacted at 866-451-1726, or via email at bobd@511tactical.com.

Awhile back, DefRev published a story on the excellent 5.11 Tactical Pant. The story is titled 5.11 Tactical Pants: Cargo Pants for Tactical Professionals.. We suggest you check the article out if you’re currently looking for a very high quality dress casual cargo pant that can pull double duty as tactical training or tactical operations garment.
