Armed Forces Journal (AFJ) recently held their annual Shoot-Out at Blackwater USA. The AFJ Shoot-Out at Blackwater has become a real big deal annual event among small arms experts and military defense/tactical industry people. At this year’s Shoot-Out (2004), Armed Forces Journal editor John Roos and his merry band of shooters/evaluators put a plethora of tactical small arms through their proverbial paces, including the ubiquitous Milkor MGL Mk-1S, which is currently the world’s premier 40mm multiple grenade launcher, and an extremely effective force multiplier for military Special Opertions (SPECOPS) units, counterinsurgency forces, and private military company (PMC) security teams.

Coincidentally, I wrote and published a short article on the Milkor MGL Mk-1S 40mm mulitple grenade launcher last month, titled "New and Improved Milkor MGL Mk-1S Multiple 40mm Grenade Launcher for SPECOPS", in July.

Anyway, you can read all about the Armed Forces Journal (AFJ) Shoot-Out at Blackwater 2004 by clicking on the link below:…

Definitely worth reading. The article was written by Armed Forces Journal (AFJ) editor-in-chief, John G. Roos.

Included with the AFJ piece on Blackwater Shoot-Out 2004 is an article on the Heckler & Koch (HK) XM8 infantry rifle/carbine, titled "1 killer weapon:
8 things you’ll love about the XM8
". John Roos wrote this article article as well.

Included in the Armed Forces Journal (AFJ) XM8 piece are videos which, again coincidentally, DefenseReview highlighted in our article "ATK/HK XM8 Carbine Demonstration Videos from SHOT Show 2004", which we published back in June.

DefenseReview looks forward to the AFJ Shoot-Out at Blackwater every year, since we’re fans of both Armed Forces Journal and the excellent Blackwater Training Center.
