The MGL-140 photo contained in this article was taken by, and is the exclusive property of, DefenseReview.com. Click on the photo (below) to view it full-size. Well, it looks like Defense Review isn't alone in being impressed with the MGL-140. We've got company. DefRev recently got some rather big news on the MGL-140--that the United States Marine Corps (USMC) is going to be...
purchasing the MGL-140 "in quantity", since the MGL-140 beat out all comers in a head-to-head competition that pit a number of "40mm Mult-Shot Grenade Launchers", or "MSGLs" (all made in America), against each other. Frankly, DefenseReview isn't surprised that the Milkor product was the baddest of the bunch. Milkor MGLs (primarily the Milkor MGL MK-1/MK-1S) have been proving themselves in combat hotspots around the globe for a long time now, especially in Africa and Central and South America(s).
Author's Note: DefenseReview will try to interview a U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) representative about the "40mm Mult-Shot Grenade Launcher" competition, the MGL-140's performance in that competition, and the exact perameters of the USMC contract (i.e. number of units being procured/purchased) as soon as possible, in order to glean as much information as possible for our readers.
