Before you host your website do your homework

So you started your journey with your business and are just about to decide on a website name. Well the first thing you must figure out is where are you going host your website. You really need to do your homework with a good webmaster who knows where to host your website. Again you need to understand that if you know for sure that you are going to get over 5000 visitors a day to your website then you are going to have to skip the cheap hosting and get hosted on a cloud service or a dedicated server that can handle lots of traffic.

Also it depends what activity you are going to be doing with your website. If you are just going to have a business card type of website with basic information you don’t need a dedicated or cloud server. If you are going to be running a store or more complex software than you need help in consulting with the maker of the software.

Again you can do some of your homework by using websites like web hosting rating, best web site hosting or best 10 cheap web hosting services just to give you a good idea on what is out there and what other people like yourself are saying about different hosting companies. Understand that your software that you are going to use on your website can determine where you will be hosted. Some hosting companies dedicate themselves just to hosting Microsoft websites and do not offer unix based hosting. Of course there are many more hosting companies that offer unix based hosting only and no support for Microsoft ASP .NET etc…

So make sure before you start choosing a hosting company that you know what you plan on doing and what growth you expect from your website over the next year. Good Luck
