DefenseReview.com (DR) is a BIG proponent of force-on-force gunfighting/tactical shooting training. So, we're happy to get out the word about martial combat instructor James Williams conducting a force-on-force gunfighting course for civilians coming up on December 1-2, 2012 at the Dojo of the Four Winds, in which he'll be covering the following:

– Basic weapons handling
– How to shoot effectively
– The geometry of a gunfight
– Minimizing your target profile
– Effective cornering.
– The use of the tactical flashlight and firearms

Airsoft guns will be provided for the course, but Williams recommends that students purchase their own so they can practice at home after the course.

The force-on-force gunfighting class is a prerequisite for his follow-up force-on-force class at Strategic Operations, where students will fully engage in Force on Force scenarios. Strategic Operations is is a premiere military/law enforcement (LE) tactical training facility known for its "hyper-realistic" training services with total-immersion-type military battlefield atmospherics, including urban warfare/MOUT combat environments.

Williams has taught military Special Operations Forces (SOF) assaulters, law enforcement SWAT operators and Government Security personnel in "firearms based engagements" (i.e., gunfighting), edged weapons combatives and hand-to-hand combat for many years, and used to work as an instructor for at Combative Concepts back in the day. So, Williams is one of the original practitioners of low-light/no-light gunfighting with the use of tactical white lights.
