While DefenseReview (DR) was perusing the booths at NDIA SOFIC 2015 (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference 2015), we ran into the guys at Military Hardware, and they showed us a gun lube called “Freedom Juice/Tec-Shield Elite“, which sounded interesting to us from the way USMC MSgt Rick Cover (Ret.) explained it to us. In fact, it was interesting enough that we wanted to circle back to their booth to shoot some video of Mr. Cover explaining Freedom Juice’s lubricating and cleaning advantages, but we ran out of time. So, you’ll have to settle for the text and photos.
We’re pretty serious gun guys here at DR, so we take maintaining our guns properly and keeping them running pretty seriously. So, we take gun lub, or weapons lube, pretty seriously. It’s important to keep your ballistic weapons properly lubricated at all times, so they run right when you need them to, particularly if you’re carrying them for serious social purposes (or your job), or relying on them for home defense to protect yourself and your family.
Anyway, we’re going to try to do some hands-on T&E and review of this product as soon as we can.
In the meantime, we appreciate the fact that Freedom Juice/Tech-Shield Elite Oderless Cleaner and Lubricant weapons lube is “odorless, environmentally safe and will not irritate or harm human skin”, and that it also won’t harm wood finishes, according to Military Hardware. Freedom Juice is water based, biodegradable, and non-flammable. Defense Review is curious, though, as to how well it will work on military-grade select-fire/full-auto M4/M4A1-type tactical AR (AR-15) carbines and SBR’s (Short Barreled Rifles) and belt-fed machine guns. We’re particularly eager to find out how well the lube works on the FERFRANS SOAR and SOAR-P (Piston) select-fire AR SBR’s and carbines, and the FERFRANS HVLAR (High Volume Light Automatic Rifle) mag-fed AR assault carbine.
