Rock River Arms out of Cleveland, Illinois has come out with their own version of a LETC(Law Enforcement Tactical Carbine), and it’s called the LAR-15 LE. Features include a rather interestingly designed flattop receiver with full-length Picatinny rail, redesigned safety/fire selector lever, M4A1 double heat shield handguards, and match grade two-stage trigger. Barrel is heavy with 1:9" twist.

Rock River’s AR-15’s are supposed to be manufactured to very high quality. However, unless they’ve modified the standard M4 gas system, the LAR-15, must be, by definition, prone to the same kinds of problems under hard use as the M4, save for one aspect. Unlike the M4, the LAR-15 is semi-auto only. Therefore, the most significant M4 problem, gas system overheat and blowout, may never present itself, as this failure usually only shows itself when the M4 is fired extensively on full-auto.
