Mark Fingar of LaRue Tactical was kind enough to take DefenseReview (DR) through the new LaRue Tactical PredatAR Series lightweight OBR 5.56 (5.56x45mm NATO/.223 Rem.) and OBR 7.62 (7.62x51mm NATO/.308 Win.) tactical AR carbines (AR-15 carbines) at SHOT Show 2011, and we got it on video.

The LaRue Tactical OBR PREDATAR series AR carbines operate via mid-length direct gas impingement (DGI) system. They feature lightweight 16-18" pencil barrels and premium components like the MagPul CTR stock and pistol grip. The OBR PREDATAR series' lightweight Mil-STD-1913 "Picatinny" rail sytem/tactical handguards/forend rail tubes and upper receivers do away with the standard OBR's 10-20 MOA gradient. The bolt carrier group (BCG) on both weapons is chrome lined. The LaRue OBR 7.62 PredatAR comes with two 20-round LaRue Tactical magazines.

The new LaRue OBR PredatAR guns looked and felt pretty good to DR, but the proof is in the pudding, i.e., in how they perform at the range, in the field, and/or in competition. We're guessing they'll do pretty well.
