Rock River Arms (RRA) DEA/FBI Tactical Carbine (Pre-Ban/NFA Config)

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The March 2004 issue of "S.W.A.T. Magazine" has an interesting article written by Denny Hansen. The DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) and FBI have apparently chosen a new semi-auto-only tactical carbine, which appears to be a highly accessorized, and perhaps slightly modified, Rock River Arms (RRA) Tactical CAR-A4 carbine. The RRA DEA/FBI semi-auto-only tactical carbine will feature a 14.25" chrome-lined 1:9 twist barrel (NFA length), Rock River Arms’ own pre-ban six-postion collapsible/telescoping Tactical CAR buttstock, and a Hogue rubber pistol grip.

Other contract features include the…

ubiquitous EOTech model 552.A65 HOLOgraphic Weapon Sight/Holographic Diffraction Sight (HDS). As a back-up to the EOTech 552.A65 holosight, the DEA/FBI carbine will be equipped with GG&G’s A2-style BUIS (Back Up Iron Sight). This BUIS rear sight unit includes the new locking detent that locks the sight in the up position. The DEA and FBI are going with the SureFire M73 1913 Picatinny forend rail system (four sided). As part of the contract, the SureFire M951XM05 tactical light with M49 mount (for the M73 rail) will also be included.

DefRev doesn’t yet know what kind of sling is included in the DEA/FBI contract, but we do know the gun will be supplied with six 30-round mags and, a cleaning kit, and an Eagle Industries padded soft case.
