Strike Industries CAT (Center Axis Target) Sight Lo-Pro/Hi-Vis Illuminated Auxilliary Aiming Device for Low-Light/No-Light Gunfighting with Your Pistol at Night!
Strike Industries (SI) just introduced a very interesting lo-pro/hi-vis (low profile/high visibility) illuminated “auxilliary aiming device) for pistols called the SI CAT Sight. The “CAT” stands for “Center Axis Target”, and the sight itself is designed specifically as a quick sight picture in low-light or even no-light (or, “zero light”) conditions. The CAT is designed to be positioned right behind the pistol’s front sight, and can be outfitted with a “tritium lamp [cylindrical tritium insert], fiber optic, high polish reflective rod, or a chargeable luminescent source affordably.” It’s a really interesting auxilliary/backup low-light/no-light sighting concept, so DefenseReview (DR) is really interested to see some end-user feedback on it.
Strike Industries explains their thought process behind the SI CAT Sight as follows: “When airplanes are making their descent, pilots must aim their aircraft to align perfectly down a straight pathway, the C.A.T sight acts as a sort of landing strip that draws user’s eyes to follow the path of the C.A.T Sight. Rather than trying to align typical three-dot sights, The C.A.T Sight focuses your eyes to follow straight down a brightly lit runway.” Interesting, no?
Strike Industries SI CAT Sight Features (from the SI website):
Features: – End user configurable to use preferred illumination solution
– High strength, impact resistant TPU construction
– Universal application
– High performance glow in the dark filament (not tritium) provided
– Can use commonly available 3×22.5mm tritium fishing lure
Defense Review would really like to see the SI CAT Sight in some low-light/no-light action at some point. In the meantime, enjoy the product promo video below.
