The TidalForce M-750 motorized mountain bike is designed specifically for military and law enforcement (LE) end-users. It’s basically a DARPA-approved Montague Corporation Paratrooper™ Tactical Mountain Bike (folding frame) outfitted with/powered by a 750-watt WaveCrest Adaptive Motor® system in its rear wheel hub. The WaveCrest Adaptive Motor® system, made by WaveCrest Laboratories is a highly efficient and "intelligent" electric motor that can power the TidalForce M-750 at speeds of up to 20 mph, and an operational envelope of roughly 20 miles without recharging. The motor is, according to the company, "virtually undetectable with low noise and no heat or emissions". The TidalForce M-750 also incorporates regenerative braking and cruise control.

Here’s what the Montague Corporation’s literature has to say about the base bicycle aspect of the TidalForce M-750, Paratrooper™ Tactical Mountain Bike:…

"The Paratrooper™ is full size, 24 speed mountain bike designed to endure any terrain at high speed in silence with no heat signature. In addition to the high performance feature, the bike folds simply without the use of tools. By turning one quick lever, the Paratrooper ™ folds in less than 30 seconds into 3′ x 3′ pack that can be dropped from a plane, strapped to the side of an LAV or thrown in the back of a trunk.

Montague Corporation is pioneering the use of its Folding Integrated Technology™ (FIT), deemed to be one of the next-generation trends in the bicycle industry. Recognizing the importance of this folding technology for military use, DARPA partnered with Montague Corporation to design ‘next-generation’ ground mobility.

To date, the military bike has not been available outside of the DARPA development circle. Now, due to an overwhelming demand from military groups, emergency patrols and many civilians, Montague has decided to manufacture the original Military Bike in the form of the "Paratrooper™" for military use.

The Paratrooper™ Tactical Mountain Bike offers an excellent alternative to typical ground transport. Mules/horses are hard to control, eat 6 times as much as men do, have higher silhouettes and require full-time care/training. Vehicles are noisy, require mechanics and POL resupply, and can break down without repair parts. Men on mountain bikes have off-body load bearing, can traverse any terrain, move at high speeds without breakdown, and can refuel themselves with local water and food. It is also a great moral builder – the guys really enjoy traveling around on a bike rather than on foot."

Needless to say, the Paratrooper™ Tactical Mountain Bike looks and sounds pretty impressive, just on it’s own. With the WaveCrest Adaptive Motor® system added, however, it’s REALLY impressive–at least on paper. DefenseReview hasn’t gotten a chance to ride the TidalForce M-750, yet.

It should be noted that the Paratrooper™ Tactical Mountain Bike is now also available for civilian purchase/use.
