The first piece of tactical technology DefenseReview.com (DR) reported on from SHOT Show 2012 was the US Night Vision (USNV) iTelligent iPhone 4,4S Night Vision & Optics Adapter, because of it's potential to be a real game changer and provide a very real tactical advantage (tactical shooting advantage) during low-light/no-light gunfighting and general night ops. Well, the company certainly hasn't been resting on its laurels in the last year. New for 2013 is the USNV iTelligent 4×32 Night Vision Smart Device Adapter, or USNV iTelligent 4X32 ACOG Adapter for AN/PVS-14, iPhone with exclusive ULTEM iPhone Adapter, or iPad, which the company displayed and demonstrated at SHOT Show 2013.

Chris Byrd of US Night Vision was kind enough to take DR through the new adapter, which essentially turns the ACOG into a 4×32 night vision (NV) weapon sight that doesn't require the shooter to get a proper cheek weld, so the shooter can shoot accurately off-hand AND off-shoulder, if so desired. "The ACOG's a very widely-used scope, and to be able to put a PVS-14 night vision device behind it increases capability to the warfighter that they've never had. It's an easy mount, interchangeable on and off. You've got easy instant-focus. [It’s totally] American-made, US-based Gen-III (Gen-3) night vision weaponsight. This will also of course take a smart device on the back of the PVS-14, so now you've got a daisy chain of a lot of technology."

That pretty much sums it up. Awesome tech.
