Windows 7, Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 7 Home are finally here. As of 2009 I am still using Windows XP Home Edition because when I tried to upgrade to Windows Vista it was not a very good experience. Many have complained that maybe Vista was rushed to compete with Apple’s 64 bit OS that was based on FreeBSD. This is all speculation and perhaps their may be some truth to it but it’s pure speculation. The fact was like any new OS release their seems to be a lag time for developers of other software packages to come out with a compatible software package that will run smoothly on the new OS.
But when you have a major update from 32 bit to 64 bit it can be a little trickier because software that was built for 32 bit has been completely optimized over many years. Sometimes 32 bit software does not run better on the 64 bit because it was not designed for that processor type. Now after many years since Vista, 64 bit Windows 7 is ready to take over and make everything better. Now that software developers and the makers of Windows 7 have had plenty of time to perfect the 64 bit OS for the 64 bit processor. You can rest assure that the days of small number of software packages that were available are now a thing of the past.
