DSA, Inc. had an interesting SA58 (modernized) FN FAL variant 7.62x51mm (.308 Winchester) carbine at SHOT Show 2005 sporting a unique digital urban camo pattern DuraCoat finish applied by Lauer Custom Weaponry. This particular SA58C carbine features a 4-sided Mil-Std-1913 rail system/forend rail tube outfitted with a tactical foregrip and a side-folding buttstock. All in all, a pretty sweet setup.

A DSA Inc. booth assistant named Ariana Lezama was nice enough to pose with the digital urban camo DSA SA58C carbine at the DSA, Inc. booth for Defense Review. Here are the hi-res digital pics:…

By the way, the optical gunsight pictured on the weapon above originally looked to me like a Leupold Mark 4 1-3x14mm CQ/T optical gunsight, and I misidentified it as such. So the reader is aware, the CQ/T is designed for CQB (Close Quarters Battle) and short-range interdiction. According to Leupold and Stevens, The Leupold Mark 4 1-3x14mm CQ/T is a revolutionary optical sight for tactical firearms such as the AR-15 and M16. Developed in cooperation with both the U.S. military and law enforcement agencies, the Mark 4 CQ/T combines the strengths of a red dot sight and a variable power riflescope. Incredibly tough, 100 percent waterproof, and devastatingly accurate, only the Mark 4 CQ/T is ready and able to handle the variety of close-contact situations common to both law enforcement and the military."

However, DefRev member "bungeeman" has identified the optical sight in the photos (it would appear, correctly) as the Valdada-IOR 3×25 compact tactical scope (a.k.a. 3×25 illuminated tactical scope). DefRev doesn’t yet know very much about this optical sight. However, the following info on the Valdada-IOR 3×25 compact tactical scope/illuminated tactical scope comes directly from the Valdada-IOR Optics website:

"The new 3×25 compact tactical scope is IOR’s first model designed especially for AR15/M16-series weapons. Its integral flat-top base offers out-of-the-box compatibility with M16A3s and M4 carbines, and it attaches directly to any mil-std. 1913 Picatinny rail for use on a variety of other weapon systems as well. The 3×25 tactical scope is not caliber-specific; It’s 1/4 min. adjustment system provides precise windage and elevetion corrections on small arms in most sizes and calibers.

The 3×25 tactical scope features a fully-illuminated reticle for day/night use as well as a uniqe, 3-position, detachable Picatinny collar for mounting lights, lasers and other accessories. Other features include:

– Waterproof
– Fogproof

– Shockproof
– 30mm tube diameter

– Superior optical glass by Schott Glasswerk, Germany

– Photo-engraved rangefinding reticle

– Battery powered illumination system with 7 intensity settings
