The Midwest Industries (MI) booth has become a major destination for DefenseReview (DR) at SHOT Show every year, since they make such great tactical AR’s (AR-15), components, parts and accessories. This year, at SHOT Show 2016, MI introduced some new rails, including the very interesting MI G3 M-Series Free-Float Tactical Handguard Seven Sided M-LOK Compatible rail system/forend rail tube, which incorporates a patent-pending anti-slide/anti-twist torque plate. MI marketing manager Pete Bratz explains the rail in detail in the video clip below, but suffice it to say that this is one of the best-designed M-LOK rail’s out there at present, in our opinion, due to the patent-pending torque-plate aspect, which would appear to make for a very rigid/solid system.

The new MI G3 M-Series M-LOK Free-Float Handguard we saw and handled was attached to an MI tactical AR carbine sporting a Criterion Barrels CBI AR-15 Hybrid Contour Barrel and MagPul Industries stock (buttstock) and pistol grip.
