Optical combat sights, night vision optics, white lights, lasers, forward vertical pistol grip, etc., can all be mounted on the RAS. The only thing DefRev is …

Stun Rounds by Maxsell Corporation

Here’s an interesting product, but DefRev is not so sure it’s such a good idea. Para-Ordnance LDA 1911 Pistols

LDA stands for “Light Double Action”. Before I tried one of Para-Ordnance’s LDA’s for myself, I have to say that I wasn’t very interested in the concept of a double-action-only .45. The truth is, I felt that it was a solution to a non-existent problem, since I happen to be a single-action proponent. However, now that I’ve sampled it, I …

Custom Glock by Custom Arms(CAC)

Pete Carber, of Custom Arms Company, Inc.(CAC), built a special custom Glock 22 for an American Handgunner article that appeared in the May/June 2001 issue. The article was written by Andy Stanford. Custom Springfield Operator 1911 Pistol by Michiguns Ltd.

Ned Christiansen of Michiguns Ltd. seems to be doing some interesting work on Springfield Operators. When you follow the link below to the photos, pay particular attention to the modifications to the front of the gun(specifically, the dustcover). The shaping/machining work looks to be excellent, and the gun just looks great overall. It should be known that Christiansen does all …

Anyone intimately familiar with the M4 carbine knows that it has some serious problems. These include reliability problems which involve gas system blow-outs, barrels wearing …

Ballistic Fashion in Afghanistan.

Stephen Hunter has written a sort of shockingly gung-ho and entertaining article(gung-ho for a Washington Post writer, at least) with regards to small arms. It deals with infantry weaponry, and it’s worth reading. The article does contains one error regarding the caliber of the Russian PPSh-41 submachine gun, which, for the record, is 7.62x25mm, not 9mm(as the article states). Click …

The new DGS conversions are supposed to …

Global Enforcement Review Makes a Splash at TREXPO East.

I have to say that Global Enforcement Review, or GER, was a very pleasant surprise at this year’s TREXPO East exhibition. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to meet Paul Ford, the publisher and founder of GER at his booth, and came away very impressed with both him and his magazine. GER is basically a new law enforcement/corrections industry publication, with …
