Robotic FX, Inc. Awarded Contract for Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) to be Used for Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Detection and Identification
ALSIP, IL, September 14, 2007 — Robotic FX, Inc., has been awarded a $279.9 million contract to manufacture its Negotiator Tactical Manipulator Robot, issued by the U.S. Army.
The contract is a five year Firm-Fixed price IDIQ with an initial delivery order consisting of 101 robotic systems, new equipment training and 10 spare parts kits. Over the life of this contract the expected delivered quantities are 3,000 robotic systems and 1,000 sets of spare parts.

Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) to be used for Improvised
Explosive Device (IED) detection and identification. This JUONS spawned the xBot solicitation,
which began July 17, 2007.
"This procurement was competed on a two step, technically
acceptable, low price basis, and we are very excited to have won,” said Jameel
Ahed, President of Robotic FX, Inc. “We look forward to producing
our high quality, easy-to-operate robots for our Soldiers."
A key feature of the Negotiator is its plug and play architecture,
which allows for easy integration of new systems such as wireless
communications packages. The ability to
adapt to changing frequency requirements dramatically reduces the risk of obsolescence.
This robot will serve the military’s
ever-changing needs.
The Negotiator Tactical
Surveillance Robot is currently used by federal, state and local law
enforcement agencies and has had proven success with search & rescue
operations, SWAT teams, HAZMAT teams and Homeland Defense. The Negotiator Tactical Manipulator Robot
