What’s even funnier to us about Silencerco releasing their Wizard Staff April Fools video is that they did it on the very day we were planning to publish this article on the very real Silencerco Harvestor 30 7.62mm NATO (7.62x51mm NATO)./.308 Win./.300 Win Mag (.300WM) and Silencerco Harvestor Big Bore 338 .338 Lapua Magnum (.338LM) muzzle cans (silencer/sound suppressors). Silencerco’s Vice President of Marketing Mike Aland took DefenseReview (DR) through both cans at the company’s booth at SHOT Show 2014, and they both looked and felt really good.

Both suppressors are designed for hunting and long-range precision shooting applications (which can include tactical shooting applications), and feature Silencerco’s Anchor Brake technology, which is a very cleanly designed and integrated integral muzzle brake on the front end of the suppressor, that helps to reduce felt recoil after the silencer/sound suppressor portion gets done reducing the weapon’s sound signature. The 11.3-ounce (11.3 oz.) Harvester 30 7.62mm/.300WM suppressor feels particularly lightweight, but the 22.3-ounce (22.3 oz.) Harvestor Big Bore 338 .338LM can is also pretty lightweight for a big-bore can. The Harvestor 30 utilizes direct threads, while the Harvester Big Bore 338 utilizes both direct threads and the ASR QA/QD (Quick-Attach/Quick-Detach) mounting system.
