Strike Industries (SI) recently released the SI AR Steel Gas Block, a heptagonally-shaped ultra-lo-pro (low-profile) and lightweight gas block designed to fit on a .750″ (3/4-inch) “gas block mounting surface”, i.e., AR-15 rifle/carbine/SBR (Short Barreled Rifle)/sub-carbine barrel, and fit under the SI AR Mega Fins Ver.1 (Version 1) super-slim KeyMod modular tactical handguard/rail system/forend rail tube. However, you don’t have to use the SI AR Mega Fins rail, because the SI AR Steel Gas Block, being lo-pro, will “fit under whatever rail you use”, according to Strike Industries.

For the record, DefenseReview (DR) is a big fan of lo-pro gas blocks for both direct gas impingement (DGI) and gas piston/op-rod (push-type operating rod) tactical AR gun builds, since a lo-pro gas block allows you to run a longer rail over the gas block for more hand purchase and a cleaner look. Known for manufacturing high-quality tactical AR components/parts and accessories at an affordable price point, the SI AR Steel Gas Block is a very welcome tactical AR product. It also looks quite strong, but we’d of course have to see some high-round-count data on it (or test it ourselves) to confirm that.

So, if you’re looking for a quality lo-pro gas block for your next tactical AR build, you might want to give the Strike Industries SI AR Steel Gas Block a serious look.
