DefenseReview (DR) was recently sent a couple of interesting video clips of a U.S. Military operator shooting a 2x2x2 drill on semi-auto and full-auto. The interesting part is that he’s using a MK18 Mod 1/M4A1 CQBR SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) upper receiver outfitted with a FERFRANS Specialties (FF) DSAS/RRS BCG (Delayed Sear Activation System/Rate Reduction System Bolt Carrier Group) and FF CQB Modular Muzzle Brake System (MMBS) with FF Concussion Reduction Device (CRD).

In the second video, notice that the shooter is able to achieve controlled double-taps on full auto, thanks to the Ferfrans DSAS BCG, which brings the weapon’s cyclic rate below the 700 RPM threshold. Also interesting: the shooter in the video also told DR that he can shoot faster times with the Ferfrans DSAS/RRS BCG installed, than he can with a stock, MILSPEC BCG. So, even though the FERFRANS DSAS BCG was designed to provide for controllable and surgical full-auto shooting, it appears that it also aids in fast semi-auto shooting.
